Book Your Whale Swim Adventure
Booking a Whale Swim Sunshine Coast experience with The Pressure Project is more than just a tour— it’s an invitation to witness the awe-inspiring beauty of humpback whales in their natural environment. These are wild animals, and every swim is unique, shaped by the mood of the ocean and the whales themselves. No two encounters are ever the same, and that’s exactly what makes this so powerful. Book whale swims for the 2025 migration now!

Guests often describe the moment they come face to face with a whale as emotional, humbling, and unforgettable. Whether a whale swims past silently beneat you or lingers nearby with curiosity, the experience of swimming with whales in Queensland has a way of shifting your perspective and staying with you longer after you’ve dried off.
At Whale Swim Sunshine Coast powered by The Pressure Project, we work with nature— not against it. We believe the best moments happen when we let the ocean lead.
Before The Day
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the important information about your whale swim experience. The day before your tour, we’ll send you a final message confirming your swim and the last important details.
On Arrival
On the day of your Sunshine Coast whale swim, you’ll check in with our friendly crew at The Wharf Mooloolaba. We’ll make sure your waiver is signed, all your booking details are in order, and we’ll guide you through getting fitted for your gear (you are welcome to bring your own if preferred).
On the Water
We’ll start the journey with a short cruise on our Ocean Rose vessel out of the river and into open ocean, where the adventure begins. Along the way, our experienced team will brief you on what to expect, how to stay safe, and how to maximise your chance of a meaningful encounter.
Using our eyes (and often a bit of ocean intuition), we’ll search for whales from the boat. Once whales are spotted, we’ll slowly approach, keeping a respectful distance as outlined by Australian National Guidelines for Whale and Dolphin Watching and our own ethical code of practice.

Only if the whales are calm, curious, and behaving in a way that allows for safe interaction will our skipper and crew give the green light for a swim. If the whales aren’t in the mood to engage, we honour that and observe them respectfully from the boat. That’s the nature of a true swimming with whales experience— it’s always on their terms as it is their home.
In the Water
When the opportunity arises and conditions are just right, we’ll slip quietly into the water with our guide. Sometimes, a whale will pass directly beneath you; other times, it may hover nearby or glide gentle in the distance. They may decide to come and check us out and interact…or they may not. And that unpredictability is part of the beauty.
We don’t chase, touch, or pressure the animals in any way. We simply float, observe, and allow the moment to unfold— because swimming with whales in Queensland is not about performance, it’s about presence.
A Note On Nature
Our whale swims are entirely guided by nature, and we do not offer refunds if whales choose not to engage on a particular day. Just being in their presence— whether from the boat or in the water.
